Oconee County Habitat for Humanity’s (OCHFH) West Union subdivision has progressed at a good clip with one house completed and occupied and five other homes at various stages of completion. Jon Goyert, first vice president and a construction volunteer said, “We’re nearing completion on our second home and plan to have two or three other homes completed in the spring. Framing on two other foundations will start shortly. We’ve been busy for sure!”

Employee volunteers from Schneider Electric and Itron each spent two days working along side our own regular volunteers laying down floor joists and subflooring and, framing and raising walls in record time. It’s always great to have extra hands when doing framing and raising walls”, Goyert said.

This fourteen-house subdivision of three- and four-bedroom ranch style homes should be completed in another year and a half to two years.
