Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Seeking to put God’s love into action, Oconee Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

— HABITAT FOR HUMANITY MISSION STATEMENT

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with motivated people to build decent, affordable housing. Homes are sold to families in need at no profit and with no interest.

The mission of Oconee County Habitat for Humanity and its 200 volunteer members is to eliminate poverty housing in Oconee County by giving families an opportunity to improve their standard of living by acquiring a home of their own.

It is not a charity or a give-away program. Partner families make a down-payment and pay a monthly mortgage. They also invest hundreds of hours of their own time - sweat equity - into building their houses and the houses of others.

Our objective is to provide 4-5 homes a year to meet the increased need for decent affordable housing in Oconee County. To date, OCHFH has provided more than 100 families with such housing. We are in constant need for volunteers - skilled and unskilled. We are in search of construction supervisors, plumbers, and electricians. Construction crews work a 4-hour shift Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Please email us to volunteer, learn about current construction sites or for any additional information.
